Philena Gilmer is an actress living in Atlanta, Georgia. She is known for her great comedic timing and deep vulnerability. She stars in the independent film “My Little Renaissance Girl”, where she plays a Ursa, the therapist. She won a Best Actress award for her work in the short comedy “The Proposal” and you can catch her in Hallmark’s “A Biltmore Christmas”. Philena is also thrilled to be a part of the feature film “Stages” directed by Ryan Booth which just premiered at SXSW.
Born and raised in the mountains of southwestern Virginia, Philena started her career at the Barter Theatre. She then spent 10+ years in the vibrant Chicago theatre and comedy scene. Entering into motherhood inspired her to move closer to home and she is very glad to be back in the south.
Philena loves antiquing and thrifting. She’s always down for a long walk and when not chasing after her two kiddos, she is probably reading.
